Through a generous donation from Tyler Perry, renowned actor, filmmaker, playwright, and entrepreneur, Invest Atlanta Partnership will administer two programs to assist city of Atlanta residents with tax relief. 

The Senior Tax Relief Program will help avoid property tax lien foreclosure and assist seniors with remaining in their homes. The program is intended to benefit qualified senior residents who live in the city of Atlanta by paying the property tax balance owed.

How was the list of seniors identified?

• Property is located in the city of Atlanta (Fulton and DeKalb Counties)
• Individuals who currently have the Atlanta Senior Tax Exemption
• Individuals who have delinquent real property taxes on their primary residence

How do you know if you are part of this program?

• Seniors will be notified by US postal mail to the home address included on the tax records

Selected residents do not need to take any action on their own or make 2022 real property tax payments to anyone to be part of this program.

To protect privacy and security, residents should avoid discussing this matter with unknown parties.

Additional Help

Through the funding provided by Tyler Perry, Invest Atlanta Partnership will offer an additional real property tax relief program. The program is expected to formally launch in early 2024. The program will ensure that 100 low-income seniors will not have to pay more than they are currently paying for property taxes regardless of how much the real property taxes escalate.  Mr. Perry’s donation will pay the difference between present day property taxes and property tax increases through a pilot program.
