If a placard, yellow warning sign for residential and green for commercial properties, has been placed on a property, in order for anyone to go onto the property without being arrested, a placard removal letter must be provided by Code Enforcement staff. The placard removal letter must be obtained before a permit is issued by the Office of Buildings for repairs.
The property owner must provide the following.
- Property Deed or Settlement Statement
- A copy of the owner’s driver’s license
- Front page of the permit application
- Build Back / Renovation Plans
- Corporation documents (If the property is listed in the name of a corporation)
- Photos of all four (4) sides of the property including the back yard (wide shots preferred)
If a contractor or agent is acting on behalf of the owner, he/she must provide the following, in addition to the items stated above.
- An authorization letter (needed if someone other than the owner is obtaining the placard removal letter).
- A copy of the driver’s license of the authorized designee (person other than the owner who is obtaining the placard letter/conditional placard letter).
